Embody-Move has been delivering the The School for Body-Mind Centering® programs in the UK since 2007. The faculty has grown over time to include teachers with a breadth of experience and qualifications in both BMC and psychotherapy and other disciplines. We hold a safe space in which to inquire, explore as we experience the developmental trajectory from conception to standing on the earth and to embody the cellular nature of the body systems that evolve to sustain our unified being, enabling relationship, locomotion, and healing.
As practitioners our practice can be challenging, bringing out the best in us and at times taking us into parts of ourselves that feel distant or less known. BMC provides a space to encounter the depths of our bodies, a corporeal language that enables expression of soma and psyche, and circles for collective reflection and dialogue. The group ‘mind’ is one of the richest spaces for learning – as many students have stated.
The Somatic Movement Education program has 12 modules which can be taken in any order at any time – 7 are systemic and 4 developmental including Senses and Perception and the Physiological reflexes. The Infant Developmental Movement Education program requires the 4 developmental courses and then the specific 20 days of IDME training in four 5 day blocks. The credit for each course contributes to the SME certificate or can be used as CPD. Many individuals from all kinds of backgrounds and professions have joined us over the years for personal and professional reasons and find the experiences flows onwards as a continuum to inform and elucidate both.
