Aki Omori
Teacher of Body-Mind Centering®, Graduate of Embody-Move
Aki was born in Tokyo, Japan, moved to UK in 1987, has background in music and physical theatre in her youth, then practiced and taught yoga for over a couple of decades, during which she discovered somatic movement practices, including Body-Mind Centering®.
She completed a 3 year diploma with Linda Hartley (Integrative Bodywork and Movement Therapy Diploma) and continued to assist on the training for following 5 years, prior to coming to study at the School of Body-Mind Centering® with Embody-Move. She was certified as a BMC® teacher in 2019.
She became interested in working with trauma through own personal history and it has been her on-going research and practice to integrate rich materials of BMC®, Authentic Movement, IBMT, use of art and various trauma healing modalities. She has a private practice in London seeing clients in person & online.
Her trauma healing modalities include: Somatic Experiencing, Neuro Affective Relational Model (NARM), Neuro Affective Touch, Somatic Practices with Kathy Kain, and Sexual Trauma Healing with Arial Giarretto.
Aki is a founder and curator of the forthcoming Somatic Study Hub, an initiative dedicated to widening access to trauma-informed, embodied somatic education for diverse communities.
