Dr Katy Dymoke
Program Director and Teacher of Body-Mind Centering® and Infant Developmental Movement Educator
Dr Katy Dymoke has been teaching BMC in the UK since 2007 and on other European programs. She integrated BMC into her practice as a Dance Movement Psychotherapist in the NHS where she was a specialist in touch and non-verbal methods in adult learning disability services for 9 years, currently she works with children and adults in education, health settings and in private practice. As a touch specialist (PhD) she has presented at conferences, published 2 books on the ethics and application of touch in psychotherapy and inclusive dance and identifies an emergent “membrane” theory. Katy established Embody-Move in 2007 to run the BMC® certification programs in the UK and later Poland and Ireland. She believes in the innate intelligence of the body, and the application of BMC in therapeutic contexts and research.
As a professional dancer and director of Touchdown Dance Katy creates dance theatre and film. Touchdown Dance brings visually impaired and sighted dancers together in a professional touring and workshop company based in Contact Improvisation. Collaborating with musicians, actors and dancers for 30+ years Katy advocates for integrated arts practice. A lover of the outdoors and physical activity, a 3rd Dan in Jujitsu, she practices the unity of body-mind.
